Vernita Walker and 16 fellow undergraduate students joined four graduate students to present their research in April at the annual meeting of the Northwest Communication Association in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Communication graduate students Yoiche Sato (in tie) and Yoko Sakurauchi compared Japanese and American news coverage for a paper presented at an international conference on risk communication. Sakurauchi is currently completing her doctorate, while Sato recently received a top student paper award at the National Communication Association for his work on patriarchy in television.
