Priya Kapoor
Priya Kapoor is the Graduate Program Director for the Department of
Communication and Associate Professor. She teaches courses on Critical
and Cultural theory focusing on feminist studies, postcolonial and
globalization theory; Ethnography, and Media Studies. Find her
teaching Sp215, Sp415/515 as a community based learning course,
Sp4/552, Sp514 and Sp525. Sp415 and Sp452 are University Studies
Cluster Courses for the Leadership and Women's Studies clusters
respectively.
Dr. Kapoor received her Bachelors degree with Honors from the
University of Delhi, India in 1987 after which she went on to earn a
Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass
Communication, New Delhi in 1988. Dr. Kapoor received a Master's in
International and Development Communication from Cornell University in
1991 and a Doctorate in Communication from the College of
Communication at Ohio University in 1995. Apart from academics,
Dr. Kapoor has worked as a broadcast journalist in one of India's
largest news agencies, Press Trust of India, and as Communication
Consultant with UNICEF, New York
